    HS Boys Soccer

A few shots the paper didn't get.

    Why I liked these:
#1: the player coming from the left....expression says it all!

#2: Who's got it? Actually, I did, the shot AND the ball

#3: Triple OUCH! #22 was called for penalty on this one, then cgewed out by the coaches.

I think you're missing one, JS. The two you posted are great soccer images, but I would love to see the third one.

I wasn't seeing the one with #22 before. Its there now. It must have been the dialup connection I am on right now.

Excellent job, JS. All three are great soccer pictures. What lens did you use to get them?

Not showing all the posted images is a problem that has been rearing it's ugly head on the forums resently. I post something about it on the site review forum and was told they are working on it.

Great soccer shots by the way. Sure wuld like to get to shot some good soccer. Looks like a very interesting sport to photograph. Love that header shot.
Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

Thanks MASDOG and Old Timer... Soccer is fun (just saw a friend shooting Colts game on TV ) although this day was really aggravating as I am still using my DRebel and the clouds kept moving so one second the sun was out next it was gone.
As for lens, this was my trusty ole Sigma 70-200 f2.8, the one I use 90% of the time. Soon though I will have two new lenses

hehhee... nothing at the moment, trying to sell my gas guzzler first . But I'm looking at the 28-300mm and 100-400mm and finally breaking down for another canon 70-200 due to the problem with my 1D.

On one hand the 28-300 I can use and not change lenses all the time, then again I get an additional 100mm with the other. And obviously the 70-200 will work for the lower light conditions at a few locations.

Just keep posting all of your sport shots and I will forever be happy. They are awesome.

I have taken soccer pics ONCE. Emphasis on the once.

My nephew plays for PLU here in washington state. I took pics of him last season. Now I know my lens wasn't fast enough. I'm hoping to get another chance this season. Very weird. #12 in the very first picture looks like my nephews twin. It's freaky.
    It's not blurry. It's bokeh.

Personally, I love seeing your pics and I can't imagine anyone would feel otherwise.

I'm going to post two pics. That's it! I'm so embarrassed.

Well, I won't have much to post over the next couple weeks. I just enrolled in Hunter's Safety Education - which is on the same nights as Volleyball. I think I might have to make a tough choice over the next couple of weeks. I should have some Soccer Pics on Wednesday night.

My friends Hunters Safety Tips .... Ok, he's from Kentucky (it's not OT either)

1: Always carry gun safety off - ready to fire
2: Shoot at anything that moves, or flies (includes bugs and aircraft)
3: Bring plenty of moonshine - might get lost in them thar hills
4: Bring a gallon or two of gas to start a fire with
5: Bring smoke grenades to smoke out the animals
6: Set the mouse traps (in case they don't shoot dinner)
7: Bring fishing poles - in case the mouse traps fail too
8: Bring shovel - just in case we shoot another hunter
9: Bring flares to start the gas for the fire
10: Don't forget the AK 47 and lots of ammo!
    11: more moonshine.........
