How about some sports trivia?

This one is a two parter. So who are these two? One is a college basketball coach, the other may be a bit tougher as he played in the NFL but only for one season.

Just to help out though here are some hints:
1: they graduated 25 years ago
2: both attended the school that is known for having the worlds largest high school gym (in fact thats where this photo was taken last night)
3: their team finished second in the state basketball finals
4: the football player played for two teams in his only NFL season

Wow, I can see not getting the former NFL player.... but the basketball coach is a real surprise as he is well known, having coached in the midwest and southewest.....

On the left is Steve Alford, coach of Iowa State. The other guy is Mike Kovaleski, who started at linebacker for Notre Dame for four years and played one year in the NFL for the 1987 Cleveland Browns.

Nice job JB! One minor error, Mike alaso played for Tampa Bay that year... he was traded after the season started.... good job though, so how did you figure it out?
