I guess it's because the world isn't in B&W, so why ruin the color? I understand that originally there wasn't color film, but there is now. Just a personal opinion of course. I think though that B&W does have a place, like the bottom shot, but I think it's over used now.

B&W is about the study of shape and the relationships between light and shadow. It eliminates the distraction of color. This of course is the opinion of someone who drew non-stop as a child. Pencil and paper tend to come in black and white.

I disagree with JS on the B&W thing, I love it. Some of the most memorable sport pictures that I can think of are B&W images. Thanks for these over here Seb. They are as nice as anything I've seen lately. As JETA said they are truely works of art. Beautiflully converted and presented. Thanks it's sure nice to get something new and refreashing here on this forum.
