Well it was a two hour drive to shoot two quarters and then drive two hours home
In those two short quarters I noticed a theme going on with the photos.... BALL CONTROL! it was a major issue for the team I was shooting as they should have had 20 fumbles in the first half..... somehow they only had one that actually got away and they were lucky enough to jump on it. Needless to say it was pretty sloppy and when I left they were losing 22-7.

Hey OT, remember the kicking thread? Well the home team had no kicking game at all. They couldn't punt, couldn't kick off more than 30 yards and didn't even attempt extra point, so they went for two point conversions all night.

Nice photos ... why is it that the only two people with their eyes on the ball are the REF and the PUNTER? LOL

lol, I don't know, but that official sure has a good view of that ball, he's not a bit concerned about the QB getting squashed
The punter is also the #1 rusher, he's on "d" as well, and so is the QB. In fact the QB picked off a pass tonight, one of the few highlights of the night....

Wow, I am surprised no one noticed the photo that doesn't belong here, well at least not the theme of the ball handling, and I don't mean the kicker. I had a laugh though when I noticed the photo.

I have no idea what you mean, put I am very curious …

    1) Big hit – receiver could not handle the ball – theme - yes
    2) #24 has the ball in his elbow (yes) – I guess ready to fumble. Great expression on 59’s face.
    3) 24 is being stripped by 24.(yes)
    4) 34 – well – is carrying the ball. Must be difficult with those pads.
    5) 85 makes a grab, although I think he is out of bounds – but yes
    6) 24 is bring stripped - yes
    7) Thinking the all-blue team was stopped on third down – 4 is holding the ball (yes) – BUT there is a kid dancing in the background?
    8) Basic tackle, ball is being held
    9) The punter which you said does not apply.

If that is what you are talking about, the “free laugh” in the back, that happened to me while shooting a highlight video. I had the pitcher in pregame warm up and a girl about 30 feet back on the hill was just doing kart wheels. But clearly seen in the shot. So I used the line – “It was such a big game … even the young fans were doing kart wheels!”

    VinnyC01,

Well you have the right photo, but that wasn't the part I was meaning. Actually on this play #10 intercepted a pass but there is something else in that photo thats just plain dumb luck and doesn't look right
Lets put it this way, the paper wouldn't run it, at least not without some photoshop work!

    Re: Hold that ball!

Ok, I guess the head linesman looks like he is giving the middle finger - aka - flipping the bird. I can see the ha ha ... ironically, as a football guy, I guess my mind just picked up 4th down. Which goes completely against your version. All I can think is that you caught him starting the clock. I am very confused - and not that it matters - but is #4 holding the ball or is it in mid air?

But yes, that would be funny.

    Re: Hold that ball!

#10 flipped the ball to #4 after the play was over, kind of a "stick that one in your pipe deal. It came back to haunt them though as #4 ran a long one to set up the go ahead TD.
The ref was signaling first down at that spot where 10 was brought down following the TD. I just thought it was hilarious when I saw his hand and the fence post, that could be constude as one "finger", first down or otherwise
I had a shot the paper really wanted to use, but the staff photog wasn't in the mood to "fix" the middle finger. We almost didn't notice it
