    Highschool football

I was losing light fast at a highschool football game this week, but tried to salvage a few images. Just like to get your take on a couple. D70 with Nikkor 80-200 AF at f2.8 rating 800 to 1600 ISO.

It always gets my juices flowing when I see sports pics here.

Nice work Old Timer in difficult circumstances by the looks of it.

The pics certainly capture the atmosphere of the occasion. The second pic is an unusual and welcome angle on the game - it breaks from the norm which is good!

I have quickly cropped shots 1 and 3 - it might be preferable to crop even tighter - I think there's a bit more 'impact' when the subjects fill the frame more fully.

    Others may disagree!

Thanks for commenting, and I agree that tight crops add impact to sports images. I left the first one wider to include #42 coming into the frame because he was the eventual recevier on the play that went for the first TD of the game. But I agree with your overall take on the individual images. Here is another frame from the number one sequence.
