    High School Basketball

Just a couple of shots from a recent boys high school basketball game. The lighting in the gym has improved slightly from last year and before the season. Thank goodness. At least now it's workable light.

Nice shots. I just noticed you are in KY, where at? Don't see too many shooters from the Bluegrass, I thought OT and I were the only ones.

Considering the lighting conditions these are remarkable Brian.

And Daniel just so you'll know, Brian and I are in the same small town and exchange ideas and notes frequently. We had lunch together today and spent about an hour talking about nothing but photography. Brain actually makes a living at it as a staff photographer for the local weekly, where I do it more out of love and as a hobby and try to make enough to keep the habit alive..
Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

Very nice, and very nice lighting I bet they did what one of our schools did, they replaced ALL the lights at once and it's much brighter, I can shoot at 400 if needed in a place that before I was lucky to shoot at 160!

Daniel, as Larry said I'm from the same town as him. Used to work for a daily as a staffer and then as chief photog and got tired of running 7 counties. Now I'm at the weekly where I started in college. Like it much better. JS, they replaced all the lights on one end of the gym. Luckily it was the home end that I shoot on most of the time. Before the lights were replaced you would be lucky to get 1/60 at f/2.8 at 1600 with the flash on full power. It was really bad. Still has the same lovely yellow cast to it though.
