Help with Team Picture

I was hoping someone could advice me if this team picture is ok. I have been asked to do our state team picture that will hang outside our gym doors and am alittle nervous to do it. Since I still struggle with all the correct setting, I just used the settings I use when I took action pictures during the year. ISO 1600, shutter 400 f 1.8. This was a team picture I took earlier in the year so later this week I have to take a state one and really don't want to mess it up. Any advice is welcomed, I'm here to learn!!!

If this is going to be blown up big (and I assume it is since it will be on the wall) you'll want to lower ISO to 200 and use a lot more light. Also, you'll need a smaller aperture like f6 or f8 to keep all of the faces in focus. I went for a different look in this one and it was blown up to 48"x96" to be framed on the gym wall.

Very nice picture, I don't think I'm ready to take on a project like that. I really don't have any more sources of light I can use. I will practice with the settings but our gym is so dark it may not work. Thanks for your tips. Your picture is something I would like to do someday.. Our picture won't be blown up that big maybe 3 feet or so. It is part of our trophy area.

I'm brand-new to the forum and a little wary of giving advice, but I'd suggest you pay careful attention to your background and go for a little tighter crop - lower the top of the frame closer to the player's heads and don't lose their feet. Good luck with the shot!
