Help with Canon for my wife for Christmas

    Hey everyone,
I'm not a camera expert at all. My wife is quite the photographer (has almost gone into business a couple of times), and I wanted to surprise her with a new camera for christmas.

90% of her pictures are of kids playing sports. She currently has a 20d with a 70-200 zoom. She has the big white 100/400 zoom too, but doesn't like carrying it around all day at soccer tournaments.

She wants a camera that will focus quickly and take bursts of lots of shots as fast as possible. I don't want to buy the 50d if all she gets is more resolution rather than higher focus speeds and more pictures faster. What measures the things she likes?

Seems like a burst of 5x frames per second to 6x frames per second isn't a huge difference. Is there a different camera I should look at or is this more of a lens issue?

    Thank you very much,

I went from the 20D to the 1DmkIIN.
It has better AF in low light, faster AF, and is better weather sealed.
It's also heaver than the 20D, has a bigger viewfinder, and the battery lasts longer.
If you have any EF-S lenses, they won't work on the 1D.

Today you should be able to find them a bit less than 2/3 the price of the 1DmkIII.

But stay away from the discount houses, if it looks too good to be true, it is
I recommend you check the Camera Dealer Feedback forum http://forums.photographyreview.com/...splay.php?f=10
