    Ouch! That wasn't cheap.

I think camel would be faster. ;)

    Bummer

This repair is due to using a non-Canon lens? I'm pretty skeptical of that explanation. Still need to follow up on it. Bummer about the repair. Bigger bummer about the time. Repairs and maintenance are part of the deal if you shoot a lot. But going without your main camera for that long is not good. Join CPS?

Well I guess $248 is better than the $1200 it could have been....gulp!

But why it takes soooo long to get from A to B and back is beyond me. A truck should get it here in one or two days. Oh well, I'll just cross my fingers, feet, eyes and anything that I can cross in hopes the shipper doesn't throw it around!

Hmmm, PJ does get to this corner of the forum! Yup, that is/was the cause PJ. The tech confirmed it, the people at CPS confirmed it back in August when they diagnosed it. Canon and non Canon lenses use different voltages and currents to do things and that causes problems.

Applied to CPS three times, haven't heard back from em. It's one of those things getting in there at the right time and with the stuff. Hit or miss. Kind of bites as I know so many on CPS, some who helped me out on the latest App so we'll shall see.
