    Football (Cabrillo v. West Valley)

Last night, I shot my very first college football game. I have an opportunity later this month to assist an NFL game and possibly shoot, so I figured I better practice. I set out with my MKIIN, 300 f2.8IS and 1.4TC. I limited myself so I could look for new angles and find interesting places to shoot from.

    C&C as always please.

Looks like you got some pretty saturated colors? How did my school do (I goto WV)?

I've been meaning to go out and shoot some games for the different sports, since my school schedule this semester is perfect for it.

WV Lost 24-17 in the last 35 seconds of the game.

About the saturated colors. I tried a new way to deal with colors, LAB mode, but I'm not sure I like it. They come out really saturated and the oranges look a little red.

Cabrillo's stadium light is junk. I was shooting ISO 1000, SS 160, f2.8 at the end and it was just too much for any thing crisp.

The first is interesting, just too bad his hands blocking his face. The orange is a tough color to begin with, most orange pigments cause the color to appear red. There are certain types of orange that won't do that though.

JS here's one where the kicker's face is less covered. But DOF is to shallow to really see his face. I still like it though.

Yeah, I like the first one better, although it's too bad DOF was off on the second posted. It's tough to get those shots, the net tends to get the focus.
