    Focus Issues and Wild Fans

    Hi All...

Ok not the wild and crazy fans we are used to but there were some "wild" fans at my daughter's 1st game.

The focus problems were from the net surrounding the field (as seen in #1). Does anyone shoot indoor soccer and have to contend with this? If so, how do you do it?

#1 is the net that played havoc with me and focusing...
#2 is a near miss and near catastrophe.... thank heavens it is a girl and not a boy in the pic
#3 Better Timing I think, but close to getting there
    #4 Darn net
#5 "wild fans" storming the field.....

Re: Focus Issues and Wild Fans

Get as close as possible to the net, and shoot wide open with longer focal length to minimise its effect.
I know it's not football, this is shot within a foot of a chain link fence with 300mm.
And a shot with the P&S to show the fence.
I hope you can see, getting close to the fence and using wide aperture and long focal length gets a reasonable shot.

Had one that I really like, not as sharp as I like, but I like it because he is in full stride.
