    Flashless Night Football

    Light was bad but still managed to get a few with the D3s iso 6400 & 8000

    Thanks, very minor reduction in Noise Ninja. I think its the D3s mostly.

    Good grief, how on earth do you get these shots? wowzer....Can you get shots like these w/ the D700? I am just not even in the same galaxy w/ my D700...and, yes I KNOW its not the camera- its the fool DRIVING the camera...and I am ALWAYS comparing my shots to the ones of yours on this forum....and I am improving, but stilll....AGES away from these.

    Outstanding results with the high ISO, but even better is the great action you captured. Are these with the400 f2.8?
    Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

    Thanks, it was indeed the 400mm f2.8. Can anyone comment on the first one, the player attempting the tackle looks like a giant? Is this some sort of compression?

    I think in the first one the would-be tackler is just a big kid. His number indicates he is probably an defensive lineman who was able to move laterally down the line and caught up to the ball carrier, who looks rather smallish.
