I didn't care for the ones with flash, it seems to take the environment out of the picture. Having everything edged by its own shadow doesn't work, either.

I could tell you were playing with exposure settings, and you can see which ones are right and which ones are a bit dark. You'd think a lit field would be easier than a gym, wouldn't you??

I'm not a fan of flash on sports pics either, but I have to admit that some people do a pretty good job with it. Wish I could help you there but I've got no expertise in that arena. I can tell you that on camera flash just very rarely does a good job with sports.
Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

The people that use flash for soccer or football usually mount them on the Monopod or Tripod( what ever they are using) I personally think they are harsh and they limit me( since I'm not that good) to a low fps rate.

Asking viewers to plow through 91 photos is a bit much. I suggest limiting it to a more reasonable number. You're much more likely to get a meaningful response.

What's with the constant Be-brutal-because-I'm-a-lousy-photographer approach? I don't see any need to put yourself down. None of us knows everything there is to know about photography! We're all still in various stages of learning.

    Re: First soccer game

If shot in raw I think the non flashed photos may turn out ok with a bit of post processing but a venue with bad lighting is something hard to deal with. Usually the center part of the field has the best light.

I would wait for a day game if I had to get good portraits of the players.
