First Hockey in a while...very high scoring...

Tonight I shot my first hockey game in a few months. Normally, the schedule works out so that hockey games are on weekends when I'm not in town. Well, this weekend was no exception, but the game wasn't far from where I was.

This game was an offensive battle. Neither goalie could keep the puck out of the net. Despite all the goals scored, I didn't get a single one from my team - I was either out of position or it didn't turn out. I did get a few shots of the other team scoring, though.

Final score, Marian 9, Lawrence 7.

they look good, with the exception of a bit of blown out ice. I like the goalie save. Good timing. what are your contrast settings in camera? I found if you set it as low as it can go, it really helps to preserve details.

Hey Brent,

I know the ice is a little blown out. I'm having trouble getting near perfect exposure where the ice isn't blown out. I don't use any in-camera contrast - I have it set to zero. I added a little contrast when I was post-processing, but I didn't think it was that much.

Very nice job. Good exposure. I really like #2, great timing on that shot. I have nver had athe opportunity to shot hockey. I'm sure there are a whloe new set of problems to over come.
