Very very awesome shot, this had to be a little luck and a lot of skill. I love to watch cars race in the rain, the second year I went to the USGP it rained and the rooster tails were just awesome.

In the dry they were using more throttle, so on the overrun there was more flame.
The big problem is by the time you see it, then it's too late.
So you have to learn each driver's braking point and anticipate based on their speed into the corner whether it's going to do it this time or not.
Even then it's best to keep shooting and discard lots of shots
