    I noticed you used aperture priority and imagined my self struggling with Exposure compensation to avoid blown highlights or too dark images

    Since it seems all the dogs are in bright sun light , I would have exposed for the bright whites, just before they burned and stayed at that exposure the whole time
    Perhaps F8 and whatever speed resulted, if to low, maybe increase the ISO a bit, so the dogs are sharp while moving quickly.

    But I might be wrong, one thing is to see the photo and give an opinion after the fact, a complete different thing to have dogs splashing water your way

    and, I think taking the hood was a better idea than the polarizer
