    Cricket in Texas? Really?

So I went out and shot a Cricket match for fun. It was fun but the images didn't turn out as I would of hoped. I am using a Nikon D70 and 300mm f/4 Lens.

I am looking to upgrade to the D700 w/ 70-200mm 2.8. Will that D700 blow the D70 out of the water?
Anyone know where one could lease to own such a camera?

I think for cricket you need a longer lens, judging by the crop on these.
I'm surprised at the softness though, is it a Nikon lens?
All the EXIF information is removed form the photos so I can't see what settings you used.

The biggest improvement I had without buying a new body was when I changed lenses.
    From a Sigma 80-400 IS to a Canon 100-400 L IS.

But sorry, as a Canon user, I can't help you much on a comparison of the D70 and D700.
