    City Sr. Football Semi-Finals

I decided to try my hand at football pics today, and I think it turned out pretty good.

Here is a sample of what I got:

    Extra Point

    Run Middle:

    Roughing The Passer:

    Awesome Pass Protection:

    Classic Heisman Stance:

    Looking For The Gap:

    Loading The Gun:

    Near Blocked Kick:

The team in white, Lucas Vikings, won this game 29-3. I am hoping to get to the final game next Saturday, as it is played at the local university stadium, which has field turf. Should make for some good contrast shots.

    Cheers,

    Randy.

Welcome to the forum! Not a bad first outing there. I would make the following suggestions.
1: get the sunlight behind you if possible, even if it means going to the oppositions side of the field. You'll get some strange looks, but they will get over it (although one opposing teams coach tends to run plays towards me when I do that and I end up having to bail a lot )
2: crop out the extra, just focus on the main action. If you can an easy thing to do is shoot verticle, tough to do though if you do not have duplicate controls on your camera.

    Great start though, good action

To add to what JS said above, I would also try a little wider aperture. Looks a bit dark to me. One of the things I like to capture is the facial expressions under the helmets which is not trivial even under daylight. (and even worse at night) Nice captures though, keep shooting!
