    Cascade Classic Road Race (Cycling)

I'm working the Cascade Classic this week. Here's the womens field descending off McKenzie Pass in central Oregon. The entire pass is a massive gray/black lava field.
    It's not about the camera....

quite suited to B&W then in that lava field, does any colour show in that lava or is it really black?
would you get a selective colour effect just from the nature of the scene?

the Lava is actually brown under n=mid day sun light. The road gray.

the next one in sequence. If I could have shot this tighter and achieved the same effect while picking up the colors of the jerseys I would have not used the mono conversion. Really I wanted my F5 loaded with TMax 100 or Fuji Neopan ACROS or AGFA's discontinued APX. It wasn't an option for the one shot. I was working race moto in Oregon to get this and we have our hands full with digital gear (usually two bodies) so we can get our stuff out on time.

Great shot either way, but definitely has more impact in black and white. Excellent POV,

The b&w is much more dramatic, abut your choice of angle is what gives both their sizzle.
Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??
