Finally got a chance to look through my photos from the weekend and was a bit disapointed tbh

Managed to blag a shot of a mates fancy camera so hopefully have better luck with them.

I love the flame shot !

It's not so much about frame rate as getting the timing right for the first shot.
You should be able to get it in one, with practice.
Problem is you may be so far away that by the time you hear the revs drop off and the bang - the flames are been and gone.

I had that at DTM in Germany and had to do it by eye not by ear. Look for the deceleration and learn the throttle roll-off point of each driver, and which cars are set up to burn fuel on the overrun. Also which drivers were on it, and which were easing off, because only when they're pushing hard in quali do the burn fuel like that.

I assume bikes are similar, BSB seem to have at least 3 engine maps so it may depend which one they're on whether it flames or not.

Not bad results considering the conditions. I like the flame shot too, and I agree with Paul - until you get up to the 10 frames/sec range, it's much better just to time it yourself. Just like when I was shooting the Blue Angels last week, when they're doing their head-on crosses, the closing speed is 1,000mph. My friend was using continuous drive on his D40 and he got nothing. On the other hand, I shot by reacting visually and I had very good success.

Even though it's a bit dark, I like the #4 shot of the new R1 alot. Great paint scheme on that bike (and I know they sound great too). I like the action in #1 but the background is pretty distracting.
