    Thanks Lori.

They are all straight from the camera, still havent had time to master Photoshop yet.
Unfortunatly all the tracks here with the exeption of Knockhill are at least a 4 hour drive away

And yes it did snow just a little bit

So they didn't go out on wet tyres then.
I wonder if they'll have snow chains for the next race ?

Holy cow! A little snow? LOL They could use studded tires like the ice racers do (yeah, they are nuts)

Great pictures! You are definitely improving Wull, which is great to see. Even though the lighting conditions aren't great (not your fault), I love that second one of the MV Agusta - new bike, old school paint scheme.

LOL! Hey, if you've ever seen the American version of Hill Climb (on dirt up ridiculously steep hills), some of those guys actually do use a tire with a massive chain on it!

    Thanks Brad

I have got the bug now and was talking to a guy down there with a 400mm f2.8 lens. He gave me a wee shot of it in the paddock. What a difference.

Time to start saving the pennies

The first hit of a new lens is free
    Are there lens pushers?

Talked to a local photographer in Jerez who specialised in bikes, at that circuit with press access he went for the 1DSmkII and the 300mm f/2.8 and 1.4x converter.
So now, to go with my 1DSmkIII've got the 300 f/2.8 and it's fantastic.
But not long enough for some shots.
It's workable with the 2x extender but I think it'll be great with the 1.4x

    I'm saving up for a 500mm now.

Wow, that's a LOT of reach! Is the access really far away, or do you really need that much zoom to get a tight image?

    Re: British superbikes

The 1.4x was for the chicane, to get the foreshortening as they weave through the corners.
The snake effect is really good ;)

I'm surprised at his choice of 300mm but it enables him to get more riders in and compress the field to make the race look more exciting.

His pit lane lens is the trusty 24-70 L that almost every Canon using Pro seems to have.

    Re: British superbikes

Ah yes, I love the look of a line of bikes flowing through a chicane. If I haven't mentioned it here before, while I love all racing, motorcycle road racing is definitely my favorite.

Thanks for the info on the lenses... as I get more into things, and hopefully a summer job, I'll be looking to add a good zoom to my arsenal.

    Re: British superbikes

I did, the 100-400 is a good zoom.
Then I gave in and added a prime.
Been giving it a workout this weekend in the rain...
