Beijing Gold

A few weeks ago, my daughter's swim team had a picnic to kick off the new season. Since they were fortunate enough to have 3 team members qualify to swim at Beijing, and all 3 of them came home with gold medals, we were treated to seeing the medals up close! The medals were all from relays (and, of course, all swam with the incredible Michael Phelps). Here are 2 shots of the medals - and I'm still kicking myself for not getting a shot of the back side, which featured an inlay of jade (looked like white plastic on tv). As much as I had tried to plan for the day, having the right lens, etc., I think my nerves got the better of me and I only ended up with a few keepers.

Thanks Wombat for all of your help - it worked perfectly and very easily! I especially like the max size feature - now I won't be continually rejected!

WOW... What an opportunity..... My son and I have been lucky enough to meet some of the olympic athletes. I think it is such a wonderful experience for the kids (and me). They get to see people they train to be like in their respective sports and see that they are people just like them and they started just like them.
