The women's basketball game was the last game ever to be played in our old gym. Next fall we move into the new athletics complex. I finally got to scout the new gym - I'm very happy. A lot bigger, very light colored wood flooring, much brighter lighting (not sure what kind yet, but certainly not sodium). I can't wait!

Overall, I think you took some great shots. Pretty good exposure and color. Flesh tones look good and they're not overly saturated. Of the baseball and men's basketball- and purely from my own interest and perspective - I like the second photos better than the first ones. In the second baseball shot I can see the guy's face pretty clearly and it's a good pose as he's about to deliver the pitch. You can see the ball and his grip on it clearly. I like the contrast, too.

The women's basketball shots are very clear and I like the nice warm feel to them. I love the look on the woman's face in the first shot. Definitely focused and intense. Excellent job.

Hey, he can shoot more than hockey....but why? lol, I'd rather shoot just hockey in the winter and racing in the summer

Nice job on the pitchers. The basketball shots are ok, except the two on the right....I'm a stickler for having a ball, puck, whatever in the shot unless it's the coach going off or the officials, or both (got one of the latter the other night), or the thrill of victory agony of defeat at the end of the game....otherwise something needs to be there that those two shots are missing. Guess too much hearing the editors say that to me the first year I was shootong sports....it's stuck in my mind.

    Re: Basketball and Baseball

I shot a sequence of the dunk, but this was the only shot that came out perfectly crisp, and by then the ball had already rocketed to the ground. Oh well, I'll have to anticipate that better next time. The women's team won the SCIAC, our local conference, that night but by the end of the game I had run out of card memory. I frantically tried to delete some bad shots to make room, but by then the big victory moments were almost over. D'oh!

Did manage to get a couple, though:

Found out today I even got one on www.D3Hoops.com, under the article "Cal Lu punches ticket".

I'm in love with your second baseball pic. One of my most favorite subjects is the dude on the mound. I'm hoping to have some good baseball pics to share in the next month or so.

My oldest son is just starting his final hs baseball season. Guess it's probably easy to guess he's a pitcher. lol

Next year it looks like he's going to play college ball. Mama is proud!
