Well I am back to work, actually have been for a couple weeks, just having so many computer issues I haven't been able to upload anything. I have used 5 different computers this week alone and I am now useing a computer that I haven't used in 1 1/2 years as it's the only one that will access the network right. One of my other computers is messing the whole network up here at home.
Anyway, the papers had me hopping this week with 2 events simultaneously at one school Monday night, then throw in the girls soccer sectionals and it was a long week. Todays game was one of those "you had to see it to beleive it " games as the lone remaining county team was taking on a very good private school for the sectional championship. The sports editor emailed me at 3am to shoot the game. Problem was my email wasn't working until 5pm....when the game started! Anyway I got to the game at the half...perfect timing as it turned out. The other team had a 1-0 lead. 5 minutes into the half it was 2-0and it wasn't looking good for the county girls. 5 minutes later the girls finally got a break and scored.... 2-1. Less than a minute later it was 2-2 as the opposing goalie somehow couldn't corral the ball underneath her and it literally trickled across the line, so slowly that if it had to go three inches farther it wouldn't have made it. When time ran out the game was still tied. After the first 7 minute OT the game was still tied, but it wasn't looking good as the girls were really tired. A couple hadn't played that much all year, but were subbing for players injured in regulation. As time was winding down you could almost feel the other team was going to score as the county girls were really worn out and all the play was in their end. Then suddenly they got one last blast of speed and scored the winning goal.....with just 10 seconds left on the clock! That was one fun game to shoot!
The lighting was really harsh and half the time I was shooting through or into shadows or vice versa. The shot of the goalie missing the save was the visitors second goal, taken from 3/4 of the field away from her. All were taken with the Canon 28-300 USM IS.
