    Back to Baseball

Like everywhere else it seems, its getting into baseball season again. Here are a couple from my last weekend out shooting. I'll probably have more next week since I'll be shooting another batch of games. Most are from Tball - A divisions. All shot with a D2h & 70-200 F2.8 VR, most with a 1.4 TC on as well. I am really loving that combo!

    1. Safe!

    2. I finally got a nice ball-on-bat shot

    3. Out!

    4. Making a bare handed catch

    5. This one missed, the next pitch beaned him in the helmet. He just laughed & took his base

    6. Out again! I had a good day getting players sliding

    7. Gotta love Tball players. They're always doing something!

    Re: Back to Baseball

Some really great stuff here Scott. I love these little guy. Our Little League season starts this week. However the forecast is for rain and cool weather most of the week. The D2h is an exceptional camera when you have the light to work with. I love mine in the daylight, but when I have to raise that ISO the noise is not at all pleasant.
Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

Great Little League photos. Love their expressions. I really need to pick up a 1.4 extender.

Great shots, kids always have the best expressions especially when playing sports (the younger the better). 2,5,7 are my choices

    2. You found your timing and that is right on.
    5. It looks like me playing baseball even when the ball isn't coming at my head.
    7. What an expression, reminds me of the quote from full metal jacket "show me your war face."

    Scott,
Nice job there, some very good timing, glad to see you got the bat on the ball and the bare hand catch is a nice one too. The Tball shot almost has the fielder getting the grounder in the background, that would have been perfect! Keep it up!

Great Job. I think you just talked me into getting your combo. I was debating getting a sigma 150-500 but I will get the 70-200 2.8.Not to change the subject but with that converter does your f stop go to F 4?

    Re: Back to Baseball

    Thanks ya'll!

I think I actually have #7 a few frames earlier, which might show the fielder getting the ball. I've got a few more from last weekend that I'll be going through and posting them later.

Yea, with the 1.4 I goto F4, which isn't bad at all. Most of these photos only have been cropped to a 2:3 ratio, and not much else.
