All available light. Nikon D700 shooting at 1/500 f2.8 with the 28-70mm and 80-200mm Nikkor. I had been shooting this venue at ISO 3200 to 4000 however the last couple of game I've given the camera it's head on ISO let it auto set ISO. During a game it might go from 1600 to 6400 but I've like the results a lot better.

    Larry,

Neat shots. My favorites are #1, 3, and 4.

It's been ages since I last shot a gym game with SS and f-stop locked but with ISO allowed to float. I'd be concerned with the result possibly being too much variation in exposure. Incidentally, on my calibrated monitor all of these images seem rather dark and in need of some brightening up. It's especially apparent with the black skins. I noticed the same thing when I reviewed the Morehead vs. Murray photos posted on 1/20/2012. Under-exposure problem? Monitor brightness issue? You might want to see what other viewers report.

Bob levels and exposure were dead on. I tend to avoid overly brightened indoor images, to me they me they don't get a true representation of the light and atmosphere of the gym since must are not well lighted to start with.

I'm a little envious of that high ISO performance !

    Larry,

When processing images I personally don't have an issue with increasing the exposure on images that are captured in the gyms sometimes rightfully labelled as dungeons, but to a large extent this is largely a matter of personal taste. If your experience is like mine I have not yet encountered a gym where the lighting level was too high!
