Shot this 2 weeks ago, cold and wet day, it was bound to happen lol I think he hit every side of the car before he drove away, minus the outside mirror

    Re: Mustang bumper car

Is that coming up over the hill into T14? Looks like the softwall did its job. Minus the mirror, looks like he sustained no damage at all, which is pretty darn impressive when you spin into a wall.

Bingo, you are right all the way around. No damage to the car and he continued racing! This was PBOC a week ago

Nice set of photos, Lori. Good job on keeping the button held down. I remember crashes when I was shooting motorcycles where I'd just stand there with my mouth open and forget to shoot. Learning to keep shooting is very important

LOL I am one of those (marshalls) and Barber is VERY strict on where photog's can go, I have seen many asked to leave after repeat violations lol. Since I work there as a marshall also I do know my limits

    Re: Mustang bumper car

I was only 1 foot away from the edge of the safety fence, ready to duck back in.
But I'd already shown I'd keep shooting until the driver (not the car) filled the frame.
They wanted to be sure I'd get back behind the fence before another car hit ...
... worried about a launch over the yellow car, and the tyres.

Mind you on another corner they were happy with me behind a two foot wall with them, as cars careered towards it. I suppose it's all relative
You can just see the blue and white car bottom left, that worried even me !

This was rather too close, too soon, I missed the focus
