Anyone going to the Brickyard 400?

Hey if any of you are going to the Brickyard 400 let me know and maybe we can meet up. I'll be there all three days plus at OIRPI for the USAC Silver Crown race Thursday night, the Craftsman Truck race Friday and the Busch series race Saturday night.
During the 400 I'll be in turns 3 & 4, and during the IRP races I'll float between 1 and 2.

Re: Anyone going to the Brickyard 400?

Practice for football starts at 12:01am the 31st. I have a heck of a schedual for football again this year. It includes one weekend with a Friday night game and then 3 games the next day. The three in one day is the Warren Central Gridiron Classic. I think there are a couple out of state teams playing as well. Last year it was a team from East St Louis and also Brother Rice from Detroit. East St Louis has some really fast kids.

I remember you talking about that WC Gridiron Classic last year. My home school's conference has a pre season Gridaroma that I will try to colver this year as well not sure of the date yet, l'm a little behind the curve at this point, need to get geared up.

Our scrimmages are the 11th of August and the season starts the 18th (hmmm, my dads Birthday ....uh ho...) and the WC Classic is the 26th, same day as the Indianapolis Air show starts. Yikes, that will be one busy weekend....again.

Re: Anyone going to the Brickyard 400?

Just posting in this thread to say hello as a new forum member. I am going to Watkins Glen on the 11th through 13th for To Be Announced 400 (formerly called the Sirius 400 until they backed out for some strange reason) I have never shot at a NASCAR race before so I don't know what to expect.

I have shot at the Mid Ohio track in Lexington Ohio (Grand AM Cup) and a few CASCAR events at the Barrie Speedway in Ontario Canada.

I am hoping to get some good pointers, as I peruse the forums, on ideas, locations (ie turns, grandstands, Etc..) and settings.

I shoot with an Olympus Evolt 500 for now (it was my entry level camera after using a Pentax 35 MM for years) with the 40 - 150 lens from Olympus. I am looking forward to the release of the APO 50-500mm F4-6.3 EX DG HSM for Four Thirds Mount from Sigma sometime this year (hoping for release in time for xmas)

I will also be at the Daytona 500 in Feburary so if anyone is gonna be there as well shoot me apm and maybe we can meet up for a beer and some photography talk.

Sorry if I hijacked your thread JSPhoto.... back to your regularly scheduled programming

    Jae
