    Agility…

Went to a dog agility competition yesterday – very interesting and deathly cute. They have to go through/over all kinds of obstacles with their handlers trying to keep up and tell them where to go next. The handlers get to walk the course a few times before, but that’s it. Many of these dogs are unbelievably fast and many are just plain LOL funny.

The event was held in two indoor soccer courts with typical lighting. I can now better appreciate the love of high ISO that some have.

Most of the obstacles are jumps similar to this one and you can see two of the tunnels in the background.

    Here are some more jumps.

Some of the dogs take off way before the jump, but most make it.

These are coming out of a ‘chute’ which is like a tunnel except that the end is closed with loose material that they have to push out of the way.

Here they are going through the ‘Weave Poles’. Some just dance back and forth.

Others just get there noses past the next pole and make the poles do the dance.

    Then there’s the ‘Tire’,

    And ‘Teeter’.

And the last I have shots of; the ‘Table’. They have to jump up here and stop for 5 seconds – they can barely stand it.

Love these, Terry! Good job with tough subjects in tough conditions. Seriously. These are great. I love doggies! That last one is really good because you can really see how anxious that dog is

Thanks, John. Not my normal type, but shows me the value of the low light ability of the newer sensors. Shot at ISO 2500. - Terry

Adorable! The expression on the dog's face in that last pic is wonderful!
