Action Shot HELP

Hello,
This is my first time to this site and I need HELP! I have a Canon Digital Rebel XT. I have been using it to shoot my kid's baseball and football games and have started having trouble. I am using the automatic sports mode, and I am only getting blurred photos. The shutter speed is slow now and it wasn't before. I can't change it because it is an automatic mode. I had awesome shots before and it would snap them back to back without stopping at all! What have I done? Any advice at all would be greatly appreciated. I am new to digital and want to learn!!! When you say they are all blurred, were you at day/outdoor games before and night or indoor games now?

If that's not the case, make sure a few things: your lens is on AF (unless you purposely use MF for a predetermined zone of focus), the lens is clean, your selecting a high shutter speed (preferably something above 1/250-1/500).
