    2010 Red Bull Rampage Preview

Today was qualifying for the 2010 Red Bull Rampage freeride comp in Southern Utah. Here are a few photos from what was essentially a warmup day for me and most of the other photographers. I'm shooting with my own Canon EOS 7D and the new Olympus E-5 digital SLR. Tomorrow the riders get to practice and build their lines. Finals are on Sunday.

For those of you who have never heard of Red Bull Rampage, it's one of the premiere mountain bike freeride events in the world. Look it up on YouTube to get a better feel for the event. The riding these guys are doing is completely mind-blowing.

WOW, very cool. I will have to look that up.

I like how the Red Bull banner isn't colorful and taking away for the mt biker.

What lens are you using with the Canon and Olympus?

For the Olympus I brought the 12-60mm and the 35-100mm So far I've only used the 12-60. For Canon I've got my 70-200mm f/2.8, a 300mm f/4 and the Sigma 8-16mm. Yesterday I used either the 70-200 or the 70-200 with my 1.4x tele-extender.

Those jumps just look like suicide to me. I'm sticking to a nice safe game like football.
Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

These guys must have all the bits of their brains that deal with fear surgically removed. Amazing stuff.
