    HI does it have to be the round lens hood or can it be the flower lens hood as well. also what size the the lens part. I hope to get mine soon!!!!!

    The hood that comes with it is the round type and it works kinda like a lens cap except it clips to outer threads instead of inside threads if that makes any sense. the front lens diameter is 55mm.

    I see now!!! there are tons of flower hood that gets attached to the hood if u have to go that route. does it make any dif. Im not sure either.

    I'm not sure what you mean, but the round hood that comes standard with the 70-210 f/4 is deep enough to provide sufficient shade. The flower type hoods are more popular on lenses that are more wide as the hood can't extend very far out without causing vignetting. They are 'trimmed' out at the corners to prevent vignetting which allows the tops and sides of the hood to extend a little further.

    Not to highjack the thread, but how would this lens sound on the A100. Its a
    Sigma 28-300mm 1:3.5-6.3

    I think there are better out there, 28mm on the short end is a 42mm with the a100's 1.5x crop factor, and f/6.3 on the long end would be pretty much unusable except in very strong lighting.

    remember the good old days of manual cameras

    watch for the best moments and predict when they will happen ,ie when they jump up there is a second or so when they seem to be frozen in mid air, pre focus manually and fire a couple of shots each time and so on watch for the times when they are still or appear to be then shoot, good luck marcie
