Yeah, but it's all just rumors right now. PMA happens the first week of March, and that's when we'll find out for sure.

I hope they stay at 12mp and improve noise/low light and speed issues.. If they keep price moderate, it should furthur Sonys quest to be on the top. A complete rework would make it an A800?

    Re: A700

I have heard a rumour on a Danish website that Sony will be revamping not just the 700 but all of them (presumably except the 900) maybe to include video??? Apparently, we will all be wiser in March after the PMA in Las Vegas. Rumour also has it that an 800 will be introduced with 15,2 megapixel, iso 100-12.800, 6,5 frames per second, new AF with 9 cross points (23 points altogether),and built-in WIFI (WLAN), Possibly also featuring live-view or video or both. But, as I said, just rumours...

    Re: A700

I'm not really familiar with the firmwares of digital cameras, but I was just wondering why we should upgrade to a 4.0 firmware.

I also would like to know if we can upgrade the firmware by ourselves, since it's not that available here in our country.

    Any help would do.. thanks.

If you check out some earlier threads from the autumn, the procedure has been described quite detailed and easy to understand

MMM then what I have heard must be true ! march it is then

if news of a new or improved camera is coming( I for one hope they improve A700 and not replace it )
how ever if the in fact replace or greatly improve the a700 I would be foolish to by one now the price will drip on the current model --Agree all?

    Re: A700

my wife has not made up her mind about the Sony we have 2 other dslr she can use .
Birthday or not she is fussy, Its our hope better weather seals might be on the next a700 body, and a improved possessing engine
We have had moisture and dust problems before --cost us a ton of cash and a protracted length of time in the shop. the Oly E 3 is very well made but I don't care the sensor
the Pentax is a tank and very well sealed but it is heavy for her and the view finder is on the small side for eye glass users. (although UN sealed lens are much more dangerous in extrema weather then the camera body)
so if we have to we can wait
