    Where did my posts go?

I have commented on quite a few posts, but have gone back and my posts have been removed. I posted yesterday again, and today my posts are once again gone. Am I violating some forum rule or something? I haven't seen any private messages or warnings come my way, and I don't know what rule I would be breaking.

    Any suggestions?

Remove the link in your signature to another commercial site before the moderator sees it. Usually any posts with this sort of link get removed without notice.

If you want to put a link then put one to your personal site with examples of your work, that's nice to look at.

I think there might be something else going on.
I see the commercial link in pdad's sig but I occasionally notice a post I made is gone and it seems to be happening more often. At first I figured I must have forgotten to click submit but I don't think my mind is that far gone now that it happens so regularly. Two or three times in the last couple of days.

I think threads from pdxf have been removed. Search for his/her posts and you find links to ones no longer there.

A major spam technique is to cut & paste a general comment into a reply and then have the spam link at the bottom. If you just made a general comment with that link below it, I might report it.

Re: Where did my posts go?

I just took a look and moderators have been removing your posts because the link in your signature is for a competing site. That's not entirely banned. But, if you are a new member and it looks like your only purpose is to drive traffic to another site, it is likely that your posts will be removed. We love having new, contributing photographers and we'd love to have you as a member of the community. But it would probably be best if you removed your signature until you've established that you really want to be a member and not just drive traffic to your own site.

    Thanks for understanding

So why do my posts seem to disappear occasionally?

Sorry, Frog. I don't have an answer for that question. If they're replies to posts that get deleted they'll disappear. Other than that, I'd need an example so I can take a closer look. Are you talking about old posts or recent ones? I don't believe I've ever seen one of my posts disappear.

Re: Where did my posts go?

In this thread from yesterday Help with sunspots
I posted in early afternoon thanking OC and Medley and pretty much saying what I said in the 4:01 post, but then when I went back it was not there.
Its happened a few times before, mostly in Critique. Could be my ADD acting up, I guess and I forget to click submit. Not a biggy!

Re: Where did my posts go?

Frog, I haven't had any disappear so far. Every time I post I hit Preview post.first and read it to make sure it says what I wanted it to. If you do this also, you may have forgotten to go back and hit Submit Reply, it would be easy to do, Jeff
