Vague problems reported from Mac user

I don't know exactly what the problems are, but a friend (who could do with posting on the forum) says he can't see a thread on his Mac.

He can't see the post at all or he just can't see the photos? I know there are issues with viewing images with older Mac OS's. Any idea what kind of Java issue? And what evidence does he have that it's a Java problem?
