    Has something changed???

There seems to be a new 'look' (though I couldn't say what is different) and I'm not seeing (at least some of) the attached photos. - Terry

    Re: Has something changed???

Yes, Terry. We upgraded the forums software today. It's been a long time coming. It gives us a lot more admin and moderation options and should make a huge difference in the amount of spam. The forums are also on a newer, faster server so they should be more stable than before.

Can you point me to a post with missing photos? I'm not sure why photos would be missing and I'd like to take a look.

I can't see either one of these.

From the Properties, it appears to be the ones from the in-post uploads, not ones linked to.

I don't know if its related, but for some reason the forum isn't saving my login, despite having "remember me" checked. Everytime I visit I have to re-login.

That's a weird one. Maybe your antivirus software is blocking cookies from the new forums? It's a cookie that keeps you logged in.

It seems to be fixed now. It happened both at work and at home. So two different PCs, both using firefox though. Pretty much all through yesterday afternoon and evening. Weird.

For me it looks like I just get a red X for images that are just Uploaded and a filename in a box for those that are Uploaded and the Attached. - Terry

    Re: Has something changed???

the links posted by oldclicker i can see them fine

On this thread a see a list of files, instead of the images directly on the browser as usual, to see the image I need to click the filename which is downloaded as a file to my pc and then displayed on the bowser
    looking for spring

I had the same thing that cara, had to enter login info, seems to me the cookies were no longer valid and were renewed the first time I signed from each equipment to the new server/forum software

    Grumble, grumble, curse, curse.

The new forums software makes it a lot easier to delete spam. But right now it's just as easy for people to post spam. That should change next week when we put apply a minimum number of posts before new users can posts links.

    Re: Has something changed???

Thanks for reporting this. I believe it's fixed. I reported it this morning - both the images as attachments and the broken image links problems - and they both appear to be working for me now. I did have to refresh the posts with broken image links to get the images to show. But they are showing now.

Thanks again. This was a good catch that I had missed. We can't have a photography forums with no photos

I appear to be OK with the Upload only files (Properties sows Type as JPG File) but still cannot see those Uploaded and then Attached (Type as PHP File). Look the same same as Armando_m. - Terry

Oh yeah - I forgot. I had to restart my browser for the attached images to show as images and not clickable attachments. Try that and let me know if it works for you.

This should be resolved now, vbulletin defaults to showing attached images inline only if a single image is attached, I changed it to allow multiples (both here and roadbike).

    Re: Has something changed???

Before, in the Photo Critique forum, when I visited the forum it would show the threads that I had commented on (or posted) and when someone had posted a subsequent comment since the last time I visited. It did this by showing a different brightness. This was the only forum (I think) that seemed to do this (the ViewFinder definitely didn't...) Now even Photo Critique doesn't do that anymore

Some of the links on the profile pages were making load times prohibitively slow and so they were removed. Our developers need to do some re-evaluation and new database work to get that stuff working correctly again and the member gallery link is a victim of that - for the moment. I agree that it's a critical link on this site and I'm going to send an e-mail about it right now. Thanks for the reminder and I apologize that it's missing.
