Can't report spam

Robbey posted with spam links in the Welcome thread.
When I tried to report it I get a window asking what I want to do with it.

Don't know how to show the window.

Says "You have chose to open 'report .php
which is a : PHP file
from: http://forums.photographyreview.com

What should Firefox do with this file?

Open with 'notepad(default)'
'firefox.exe"
'other'

Also has option to save file and check a box to do this automatically.

Don't know what any of that is and have never seen it before so am doing nothing until I have some knowledge.

Just tried again and did not get the window pop up but it sat there doing nothing for several minutes.
Tried IE also and it does even less.

I just tried reporting Frog's last post in this thread. After hitting the Send Report button, it goes nowhere. I don't know if the report goes through to the Mod or not. - Terry

I'm exploring this right now. Sorry I couldn't get to it sooner. It's just me and I've got lots and lots of stuff on my plate right now.

The pop up sounds like a Firefox-related bug. It rings a bell. I've seen the browser try to download PHP code instead of just loading it before. I'm testing with Firefox right now and, as you said, the page is just hanging, wiating for something to load. Do you happen to know when this started happening? Since I don't ever report posts I have no idea.

Dang...just lost my response

My original post in this thread was shortly after I encountered the problem.
The pop up in Firefox did not come up today but it just sat there with the loading signal running and running. When I tried it on IE it does the same except it doesn't even show that it is loading.

We still haven't been able to fix the problem. I did delete all the spam from that memeber and ban that account, though

Today I tried reporting some spam using Internet Explorer and Firefox browsers to see what happened. In both cases I never received a conformation of my report. In both cases after a few minutes time as a moderator I did receive the reports using both browsers. I am posting this to let our member know for sure that even though you do not get a conformation that your report of spam is getting through like it should, you just are not getting the conformation. So keep those reports coming and it will be dealt with, Jeff

Yeah and its frustrating. I never know how long to wait to know if it went through or not.
