Trying out the Sigma zoom... Hi Gator

I was out trying out the Sigma lens a friend of mine has for sale. Caught this not too far from the house. First one he is smiling at me and the second one he is just sunning. Just so you know this was beside the road and not in any zoo or reptile farm, Jeff

Not something you'd see beside the road around here.

    Hummmmmmmm Grandpaw
A 12 ga shotgun might be a better thing to shoot that critter with than a Sigma lens.

Nice shots of the beast though

    Thanks

My son and I run into gators on the golf courses down here all the time. Lots of Iguanas also.

Sorry about not answering this sooner. The lens I was using was a Sigma 135-400 APO AF zoom lens that I was trying out to see if I wanted to buy it. I did end up purchasing the lens, Jeff

12 gauge is just like to get him P***ed off. Magnum slugs maybe, but 30-06 or better or let him lie.

The problem with those critters is not when they are beside the road. It's when they decide to sun themselves in the MIDDLE of the road.
The world is full of people who can hear a loud bang, feel a sharp pain in their foot, notice smoke trickling from their holster........ And never put it all together.

Canon EOS Rebel XT DSLR; Canon EOS Rebel K2 35 mm SLR, Canon Powershot S5IS Compact; Canon Photura 35 mm P&S (Definitely not compact. Probably the best 35 P&S ever)
