A GREAT place if you need it

My grandson that is 6 years old is very sick and has been taken to the Univercity of South Alabama Childrens hospital. This place is an outstanding medical facility. My son and I took a break this afternoon and walked through their park and I snaped a couple of pictures. They are not great but it gives you an idea what this place is like, Jeff

It is called MRSA, the superbug that is resistant to many antibiotics. It has gotten into the his blood stream and even into his bones. He went from not feeling good Saturday, then to our local hospital Monday, Thursday was sent to the University of South Alabama Childrens medical center Thursday and they did two operations on him the same day he got there. They had to put tubes in his chest to drain fluid and also drill holes in the bone of his leg to get the infection out.

The main thing is to watch your kids. This is a rare disease at our local hospital and one they are not prepared to deal with. The USA Hospital has teams of people that deal with children from several states around that have this disease every day. My grandson is doing better but will probably be there another week to ten days.

Thanks for everyone's concern and prayers, Jeff

You have my prayers and best wishes for a very speedy recovery for your grandson. With four grandsons of my own I can only guess at what a traumatic experience this must be for your family.
Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

    Thank you OHIO STAE!

Thanks for all your prayers, he still needs them but is looking much better. I would like to give the OHIO STATE football team a GREAT BIG ATTA BOY!

I need to mention that the Ohio State football team went through the whole hospital seeing and talking to the patients. My grandson was in ICU and they came in and visited with him. They also gave him signed posters, hats, Niki gloves and a bunch more stuff that really made his day. My hat is off to the Ohio State team for taking the time out of their schedule going to the Super Dome to play. They rate five stars in my book, Jeff

Thought I would add a picture of him inside the ambulance getting ready for his trip to Alabama.
