I like it!
It borders on being busy, but I think it works.
It is sort of a an abstract cityscape.
The finger pointing back into the frame is unusual, but it works too.

It almost seems like you took a shot of an architectural model or something. I agree that it's a tad busy, but otherwise a good shot

I think this is a real nice shot. Sure, it's very busy, but the composition and especially the crop create a wonderful and slightly abstract pattern from the all the building and windows. The asymmetrical balance of the shot is excellent, the receding of the structures giving the shot nice depth.

My only criticism is the washed out highlights at the top of the shot. There are several ways to tone down and bring out the detail of these upper buildings, either in a darkroom or digitally. Evening out the tones would dramatically improve the shot.

I like the shot and the way the sign on the left side moves your eyes left then back into the scene. It would be nice if it had better contrast.

Applying the judging rules of salon photography, the first thing one looks for is a centre of interest that attracts the eye. Unfortunately what attracts the eye in this picture is the hand and even worse, it directs the eye OUT OF, instead of IN TO the picture.

A person or car in the the centre of the street could have made a more interesting centre of interest for the surrounding buildings and what distracts the eye on the left hand side should be cropped partially out of the picture.

The rule you refer to is interesting and I generally agree with it. However, in this image, I tested the rule and found that even though I did look at the pointing hand first, my attention was not directed out of the image. Rather, I looked at the hand and then went directly to the buildings on the right side of the image, and my gaze continued to move around after that. I think the composition in this photo works very well. I only wish the hand on the left side wasn't cropped. It bothers me that I can't see the whole thing.
