What kind of paper do you use for Fine Art photo exhibits?

I'm about to do a collaborative art showing with two other photographers and none of us have done gallery work before. What is considered standard and acceptable for gallery prints? I keep seeing giclee tossed around, but I am skeptical. I suspect that good old archival photo paper is the way to go...any advice? Many thanks in advance...

    Cheers,

    Hi,

In my opinion is Ilford fiber based paper is the safe way to go... Although there are some others, but who knows who's staying in the business now these days... Otherhand, Ilford B&W paper division appears to be they're staying with us for a little while....

    good luck...

What should I specify for a lab that is going to print my work from digital files? Any suggestions? I am quite new to the fine art side of all this sadly, and am learning much from scratch!

    Hi again,

Never mind my earlier post I thought you're looking for a film based photography papers... With digital I'm not to sure what papers you can use for gallery purpose, although, Epson papers are very good for digital print as well as some Ilford papers. Usually galleries style are semi glossy or matte texture those papers are the best to show, but than again it is up to your style...
