I checked and all three of my straps and they just have Nikon on them without a model on any of them, Jeff

right, my D40 did not mention the model

I have seen it on D200, D300, and now D3

It's the same with Canon straps. I didn't even know the model number was on them until someone came over and asked how I liked my 50D a couple years ago. I couldn't figure out how he knew from that distance until I looked at my strap.

I'm pretty sure my 30D and 10D didn't have it advertised.

I can't stand the stock straps that come with the cameras, my D300 has a Crumpler Industry Desgrace strap, as does my F4. The rest have various other 3rd party straps.
