what am I missing not shooting raw?

Since Ive had my D70 I've been shooting jpeg.
Is there a quick explanation?
Dont know what I'm missing and ignorance is bliss!
In fact for the last few days Ive been basic large instead of fine large. I use elements 2 and convert to tiff usually, but not always.

This is one of those areas where there are plusses and negatives. Check the sticky thread at the top of this forum for some starters. Generally speaking, if you're happy with what you have there's no need to shoot RAW. RAW gives you a little more control, a little more quality, and a little more room for error at the expense of taking more space, taking longer to write to the cards, and requiring more time to process on a computer.
