Hello,
I've been using Photoshop 6 for a while and it suits what I need well - I probably don't use 1/4 of the functionality, though.
With my new camera purchase (20D), I'm shooting more RAW images and find that using Canon's EOS Viewer to preprocess, then export to photoshop to do the rest is a little tedious.
I received a copy of PS Elements 2 with the camera - am I better off using that and using a RAW plugin for it? Or can I get a RAW plugin for PS 6? I'm sure there are some features in PSElements that might be helpful, but are there any serious omissions from 6? (Mostly I use layers, masking, levels & curves, sharpening... and recording a few actions.)
My machine's a mess so I'd rather not install & uninstall another app if I can help it; though it is getting time for a rebuild.
Thanks,
-Ben
(on a side note - is there a plugin for Irfanview that will allow it to show RAW images? Or should I just shoot in RAW+JPG?)
