Digital Imaging Software recommendations

I need recommendations for digital imaging software. My Kodak camera came with some software but I have been told that Adobe Photoshop Elements and Jasc Paint Shop Pro would be better. I need recommendations as well as Pros and Cons of each or any other software that you believe does a great job. All imput it appreciated.

I use Picture Window, an image editor designed for photographers rather than graphic artists. There is a fully functional 30-day free version on the Digital Light and Color web site:
