In your face

I went to a performance last Saturday night. It was a dance production by an up & coming artist named LT. He leads a troupe of performers who engage audiences with ballet, hip, hop, latin& soul dance and even had 2 artists do musical performances.
I had fantastic seats, although they were a bit close to the stage making it slightly difficult to see the performers feet in motion. Being that it wasn't a packed house, some of the audience members decided to move further back. I stayed put purely for the photo ops. That being I had performers hamming it up for me and the camera. Comments are welcome.

Great capture, Nina. The only minus goes to the exposure. Have you tried to correct it with the leves & curves in Photoshop? It could make a diference. And, I'd personally have the background elements removed to reinforce the subjects expressions. =)

the framing is great and the posing the troupe is giving you is good. The exposure does seem to be under by a stop. however, the image has an appeal as it is, and i even like that I can't see the face under the white hat. This image has a certain appeal as it is that i can't explain. Just looks cool, even /or because it is underexposed.

I see Gary's point and I too like your composition very much but I would prefer to have a bluried background so the arm in the upper part of the frame would be less obvious.

I too like the fact that we don't see the face of the guy in the center but I guess I'd like to see the picture a bit brighter. I am thinking that it would make the "faceless" guy looks more like a deliberate choice.

Nevertheless, I still like this a lot. There is something going on that you captured well.

It may be my monitor setting but I disagree with the others in that the faces of the people are nice and clear and I think you did a grand job at catching the atmosphere of the group. I really like the expressions on the faces especially the chap in white.

I also like the fact that the chap in the hat's face is just a shadow but agree about the armpit behind the chap on the left, perhaps a bit of bluring is in order.

Thank you all for your feedback. I must admit that this is one of the few pics that I took that I really like. I took over a 100 pics and ended up with very few that I liked. I didn't really take any notice of that arm earlier but I see everyone's point. I am also okay with the shot being underexposed & that you can't see that guy's face. Still & yet his expression is visible & I really like that. More to come...
