Sunset.

Fiesta Island, San Diego. This was just a test. My medium format Mamiya 645e's shutter button was sticking in the cold mountain air recently, leading to overexposed shots... I took a few test shots back in town, this being one of them, and it worked fine. Guess the it doesn't like the cold.

Sweet test GB. This is about as fine and simple of a sunset shot as I have seen in a while. The simple lines of the sweep between water, land and horizon are very appealing. The sun looks perfectly exposed too. Maybe you could invest in some of those camping packet pocket warmers to keep in the same bag with the camera so it doesn't freeze up on you? Just a thought, I know you shoot in some pretty extreme temperature places and that's always a test for the equipment.

Thanks Cindy. I may just go ahead and get it serviced - cleaned, lubed, checked out, etc. - since I dont think I've ever done that with this camera.... Someone told me hey, don't do that, you can get another used one on eBay for about the same price (!) But I checked, and that's not really true.

This shot may have been a nice backdrop for a portraiture eh? Some lights to illuminate some folks on the left side with the sun behind em...

Ha.. you didn't realize that Fiesta Island (which has a land bridge incidentially) long ago used to be a sludge waste repository. It's sort of 'anything goes' place now - drinking, 4WD vehicles, dogs allowed to run unleashed, jet skiers, etc. I've had a few problems over there with intoxicated idiots while jogging. But usually it's not that bad I guess.
