    Talking Worthles

This was taken in the shadow of the "exorcist stairway" in Georgetown, Washington, D.C. Out working with a band for new promo shots around town when Phil noticed the graffiti and jumped into the niche. Critique away by all means.

They can't spell. I wish you had gotten a little more of the stairs on the left even though it has no effect on the photo... Maybe him pointing to the stairs?

I've walked these steps btw. Sort of like a 'gotta do it one time' thing.

For some reason I'm left wanting a steeper angle. But I couldn't possibly explain why. I just do.

He looks out of place. It doesn't seem to fit his personality. It may also depend on the music, unfortunately, people tend to use the images on a CD or promo photos as a guide to a style of music. I would think a punk or some type of metal musician would look good in this spot. This guy looks like he is in a boy band or something.

Guess I am trying to say he is too preppyfor the scene. If that makes sense.

    Re: Worthles

The reason I think this works for me is because he has one finger pointing to the scribble and the other pointing outward. But it's really got nothing to do with his personality or their project, it was just a random shot to break up the "OK now stand over here" stuff we end up doing during the day.

Here is the first shot [I only took two] that includes more of the stairway and is technically the shot he wanted me to take and the promo shot I like the most so far which does have something of a "boy band" flavor because they're cute but they aren't, they are way cooler. Here's a link to their web site so you can decide what genre they fit in for yourselves: www.lloyddoblereffect.com

That's so funny that you say that though because I do call them my "Boy Band" since the majority of my work is cranky old men and bluesy women.

Hmmm... I like their sound from their audio page. I hadn't noticed the finger pointing out in that photo either. It's kinda cool that they don't really have a "look" that fits their sound though. From your pictures here, i seriously thought it was going to be a boyband, or some kind of college new age/jazz project. The photos look great, I'm sure the guys will like them as well.

I really like the one of all of them looking up.

    Re: Worthles

I think the shot of them looking up is really nice. Personally, I'd like a little more space around them, maybe even a landscape aspect ratio instead,.. but this is still pretty neat (the tightness portrays a city feeling). I think the sports jacket worked the best here. Too bad the others aren't dressed similarly. (I usually wear jeans btw)
