    While Waiting...

... for Sunday's sunrise at the Fontana dam in North Carolina I tried to capture that quiet pre-dawn feel.

    I'd appreciate any suggestions.

    Chunk,

I feel that #2/3/4 are the best of the bunch - there is nothing in #1 that gives that feel its just looks underexposed.

However, there is nothing that tells me its pre-dawn,e.g. red sky or rising sun, It looks just like a dismal day with low clouds.

    Hi,
I feel shot 2 is the quietest. The other 3 shots are fine but the water surface suggesting wind blowing, so they are not that quiet,

Have to say it's Number 1 for me. It's got a nice calm feel of solitude but also the slight movement of the water gives a nice little chill in the early morning. I would consider loosing some of the water in the foreground/forewater.

    Re: While Waiting...

Thanks for commenting YoYo. I guess I was thinking more 'quiet with no one else around' and only natural sounds.

Thanks Tom. You're right about the water- I should level it too I realize - and maybe a bit more light. I did these on my laptop sceen and didn't get that right.

I find 3 and 4 being my favorite, brighter colour is much better and I like the composition with the mix of foreground and background. the first 2 just did't say much!

    Re: While Waiting...

Hey Chunk. The 4th is indeed my ultimate favorite. It reveals the quietness of the place, the pre-down sky, and it has many layers that adds depth to the composition. It's an wow!-shot.
