    The Wall - A Portrait...

I was in Moab last weekend doing some biking and photography.
This guy was part of the group I was riding and camping with.
We were out riding and saw the following image of him..
    Does it work?

I think it works only if you know the significance of "The Wall" and what it means in relation to this person. When I look at it, I just think that it's a decent photo and I wish there was a caption explaining it, or I wish there was just something more.

There isn't much to it really, the guy's last name is Wall...

I think this would work nicely as part of a series of photos of this particular rider, maybe in a story on his accomplisments or a bio, etc. But not sure if this holds it's own alone.
By the way, he also may be a Pink Floyd fan as the font he chose to write on his helmet resembles the writng on the Pink Floyd album cover titled " The Wall"

Yes, it does. The shapes, patterns and colour direct the eye toward The Wall as the centre of interest and that makes for good composition.

This one doesn’t work for me. I don’t find what’s interesting about the back of someone’s helmet. I would much rather see a face. I also am not thrilled with the composition on this one. It might work if I could see the bike or what it is he is doing… This is just a very tight crop of the back of someone’s head that loses my interest very quickly.

    I agree with Gary........

This could be part of a story board of this rider, with other supporting photo's it would work nicely. I like the colours, two things to think about if we are judging this from a graphic perspective which I think works well. Firstly the guy on the left who is out of focus has to go ( think cloning), and a more subjective point which I'm not full convinced about, the crop of the top of the helment is either not enough or you should see the whole helmet.

I really like your riding photo's, you have also inspired me to get going on the wall of photo's at home after seeing your post.

Lightbulb Sorry just one more point....

If you crop just above the WALL letters, taking the red cross off totally the colours harmonise incredibly well. ;)
